The Riga - Jelgava railway line is the shortest electrified branch of the Latvian Railway.
In the period 1976-1980, Lengiprotrans developed a project for transferring the electrified section Riga - Jelgava to telecontrol. The same work was carried out on the Riga - Tukums section.
Telecontrol devices included:
• telemechanics dispatch center;
• executive points;
• relay devices;
• communication devices.
