At the Taibola station of the Oktyabrskaya railway, the receiving and departure tracks will be lengthened from 785–988 to 1050–1070 meters. According to the agency it is provided for in the design and estimate documentation approved by the St. Petersburg branch of the FAI Glavgosexpertiza.

Works at the station will take place during the construction of the second public railway lines between Petrozavodsk and Murmansk. The lengthening of the tracks at the station will make it possible to receive trains of a unified composition of 71 carriages, adopted on the public railway network of Russia.
The fourth receiving and departure track will also be built at the station. In addition, the station will build an electrical interlocking post, a passenger platform, and an electrical heating system for the turnouts.
The developer of the facility is JSC Russian Railways. The same company will finance the work. The design documentation was prepared by JSC Lengiprotrans. Earlier, Glavgosexpertiza of Russia issued a positive conclusion on the design and estimate documentation for the development of the railway station Chupa , also located on the Petrozavodsk — Murmansk line.
