In the 1970s, according to the Lengiprotrans project, the Leningrad-Sortirovochny-Moskovsky - Ruchi - Parnas - Pargolovo line was electrified with the aim of transferring freight traffic to electric traction. In the same period, the Ruchyi - Pargolovo section was equipped with automatic blocking.
