In 2006–2011, Lengiprotrans developed a project for a transport interchange along the section of Blanc-Menilskaya Street through the railway tracks of the Oranienbaum direction of the Oktyabrskaya Railway.
Main objectives of the project:
• expansion of the city's road network;
• elimination of traffic jams arising from the low capacity of the existing railway crossing;
• provision of a full-fledged interdistrict transport connection.
The interchange passes through the English Park, which is a federal cultural heritage site. In this regard, the institute has developed two options for the transport interchange. In both cases, it was supposed to design two lanes for each direction.
Option I - ground. The overpass, after crossing the railway tracks, passes through the territory of the English Park in retaining walls and at ground level.
Option II - overpass. The overpass, after crossing the railway tracks, passes the English Park along the overpass.
Spans - steel-reinforced concrete continuous individual design, supports - reinforced concrete on bored pillars of individual design.
Later, the Government of St. Petersburg decided to abandon the construction of a traffic intersection on Blanc-Menilskaya Street in order to preserve the natural landscape of the English Park as an object of cultural heritage.
