Electric depot ТЧ-4 "Severnoye" (formerly "Kalininskoye") is located on the Kirovsko-Vyborgskaya line of the St. Petersburg metro, behind the "Devyatkino" metro station. The depot project was developed by Lengiprotrans in 1970-1980.
When designing, great attention was paid to anti-noise measures. Detailed calculations were made of the noise level at workplaces arising from the operation of technological equipment and ventilation devices. In the automatic compartment for cleaning the air distributors, a noise-proof chamber is designed with compressed air output to the outside through the exhaust pipe. The ceiling of the room is lined with sound-absorbing acoustic cement fiberboard. The welding department is an isolated room. It has movable soundproof cabins. The carpentry department uses sound-absorbing wall and ceiling cladding.
Among other things, for the first time, a complex of facilities has been developed that provides purification and full return of treated industrial wastewater to the technical water supply network. The complex mechanization of external washing and internal cleaning of wagons was also installed.
In 1979 the depot was opened. Until 2006, it had a connecting branch with the Oktyabrskaya railway.
