The Velikie Luki Steam Locomotive Car Repair Plant (PVRZ) is an enterprise for the repair of various freight cars for the needs of railway transport. Its history begins with the arrival of the Moscow-Vindavskaya railway in Velikiye Luki in 1901, when the Main Railway Workshops for the repair of locomotives and carriages were created. In 1927, on the basis of workshops, the Velikie Luki steam locomotive repair plant was created.
Daugavpils Steam Locomotive Car Repair Plant (PVRZ) was founded in 1866 in connection with the emergence of railways. The company specializes in the repair of diesel locomotives and electric trains of various series.
In 1940-1950s Lengiprotrans developed a project for the restoration of the Daugavpils PVRZ, which was destroyed during the Great Patriotic War. Also, the Electrification Department of the Institute developed an author's design of a combined heat and power plant (CHP) at the enterprise.
